3LPP Coating Production Process

DIN 30678 3LPP/2LPP/polypropylene coating for carbon steel seamless pipe

3LPP (Three-Layer Polypropylene) coated line pipes are widely used in various applications due to their exceptional corrosion resistance, mechanical protection, and durability. Some of the key applications include:

Oil and Gas Pipelines

Onshore and Offshore Pipelines: 3LPP coated pipes are extensively used for transporting oil and gas in both onshore and offshore environments. The coating protects the pipes from harsh marine conditions, saltwater corrosion, and mechanical damage.
Subsea Pipelines: The robust mechanical protection provided by the polypropylene layer makes 3LPP coated pipes ideal for subsea pipelines subjected to high external pressures and mechanical stresses.

Water Pipelines

Potable Water Pipelines: These coatings are suitable for pipelines carrying potable water, as the coating materials are safe and provide excellent corrosion protection, ensuring the purity of the water.
Sewage and Wastewater Pipelines: 3LPP coatings are also used in pipelines for transporting sewage and wastewater, where corrosion resistance is critical.

Chemical and Petrochemical Pipelines

Transport of Chemicals: Pipelines carrying corrosive chemicals benefit from the high chemical resistance of 3LPP coatings, ensuring the integrity and longevity of the pipes.
Petrochemical Plants: In petrochemical plants, where pipelines are exposed to various aggressive chemicals and high temperatures, 3LPP coatings provide reliable protection.

Industrial Applications

Cooling Water Systems: Industrial facilities often use 3LPP coated pipes in cooling water systems, where the pipes are exposed to water, chemicals, and fluctuating temperatures.
Slurry and Mining Pipelines: In the mining industry, pipelines transporting abrasive slurries benefit from the mechanical protection and durability of 3LPP coatings.

District Heating and Cooling Systems

District Heating Pipelines: 3LPP coated pipes are used in district heating systems to transport hot water or steam. The coating provides excellent thermal insulation and protects against external corrosion.
District Cooling Pipelines: Similarly, these pipes are used in district cooling systems to transport chilled water, offering protection against external moisture and corrosion.

Renewable Energy Projects

Geothermal Pipelines: For geothermal energy projects, 3LPP coated pipes are used to transport geothermal fluids, which can be highly corrosive.
Hydropower Plants: In hydropower plants, these coatings protect pipelines exposed to continuous water flow and mechanical stresses.
